Calling All Youth! Join the Scarborough North Youth Advisory Council

It’s Your Time to Make an Impact! Be the Voice of the Youth in Our Scarborough North Community

The Scarborough North Youth Advisory Council (YAC) reviews, advises, and makes recommendations to the local Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) in Scarborough North about issues important to young people living in Scarborough, the GTA and Ontario. It provides young leaders from Grades 9 to 4th Year Undergraduates (ages 14-22), with an opportunity to engage in the political process. Council members are committed to serving the community and inspiring our youth while delivering on its vision and mission.

Our vision is to unite and equip young leaders in Scarborough North with tools and knowledge they need to create impactful solutions for the community and our province. Our goal is for members to depart the Council with a strong network that will guide them toward future success. This Council is designed to nurture Ontario’s brightest young minds, ready to shape the province’s future. We envision that our members will become future community leaders.

Our mission is to advise the MPP for Scarborough North by identifying the daily challenges that the youth face, and develop solutions to address them. Members will have the opportunity to guide the MPP on improving Ontario’s education, transit, healthcare, and housing systems. We aim to host events and workshops to raise awareness of these issues, and to empower students across Scarborough North to become leaders. Additionally, we plan to conduct training sessions to help our members enhance essential leadership skills.
